Founded in 1950, Doctors with Africa CUAMM was the first non-governmental organization focused on healthcare to be recognized by the Italian government. It is now the country’s leading organization working to protect and improve the wellbeing and health of vulnerable communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In Tanzania CUAMM continues its efforts to provide maternal and child health services, to fight HIV through the Test&Treat approach and to fight noncommunicable diseases. Tosamaganga Hospital treats 54.000 patients every year, including 25.000 mothers and children. There are 1800 deliveries which are totally free of charge.
